In a society where family honor plays an important role and forced marriages remain the norm, what happens to a teenager who won't give in to a husband thrice her age?

Set in a fictional town of Kurdava (shot in Akré, Kurdistan), "One Candle, Two Candles..." is a dark comedy that deals with the issue of forced marriage and honor-related crimes against women. Gloomy as the premise may seem, the brighter side of the Kurdish small town reality makes for a counterbalance and implies hope rather than despair. "One Candle, Two Candles..." is populated with colorful characters, including a few misfits with eyebrow-raising conduct, and intertwined subplots in the fashion of Italian neorealist cinema.
